Tig Notaro
Tig (affectionately named by her brother as a child) was born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised by her single mother. While serving time in a Texas high school, Tig failed three grades by entertaining classmates rather than entertaining the notion of a successful academic career. After dropping out of school, and a brief stint in the music industry while in Denver, she decided to lodge herself firmly into the always fun and always easy world of comedy.
Most recently, Tig booked a supporting role in the feature film THE RUNAWAYS opposite Kristen Stewart, set for release in 2010. This will be her third season as “Officer Tig” on THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM on Comedy Central and was a series regular on IN THE MOTHERHOOD on ABC, opposite Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines . In previous years, she has had her own half-hour comedy special, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS TIG and recurred on Comedy Central’s critically acclaimed show DOG BITES MAN with Zach Galifianakis. She has also performed on ABC’S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, NBC’s LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY and on SHOWTIME’s new comedy series LIVE NUDE COMEDY.
Tig performs regularly at the Hollywood Improv, The UCB Theater and at Largo in her monthly show, “Tig Notaro and Friends”…and of course, headlining clubs, colleges, theaters and living rooms across the universe.
